first tip:don't use the stylus to move . second tip:go to the side when thief v goes past your house. third tip:go behind the tree when thief v passes violets house. fourth tip:wait until thief v crosses 1 of the bridges then slowly cross it(do this for all 3 bridges). fifth tip:when you get to the slant slowly follow him then when he is about to look run to the flat ground. sixth tip:you have to be in front of the hideout to succeed. seventh tip:save before you start so if you throw your Nintendo down in anger at least you don't have to spread the rumor again. eighth tip:this takes many tries to complete(it took me a real-life month). ninth tip:don't be afraid because your sims feet are making noise. tenth tip thief v is easy to do(until the slant anyway).

To get to Thief V's (WEIRD OLD MAN THIEF!!) hideout you have to do what the instructions said follow him cautiously not tooooo far and not toooooo close. This helps: when he looks around to check you're not following him walk the opposite way for a moment it really does work. This is where his hideout is:Next to the town hall plaza (Wear old Mayor Hopkins office/town hall is) Next to that area on the far east is East Village (Flower shop and tailor) At the bottom of that area is a road before the road on the right is a bridge that should take you to a place called Crystal Falls (A big rocky area with a waterfall in the middle) Somewhere in that area there should be a cave blocked by rocks the cave is Thief V's hideout. (Obviously!!) But you have to complete the mini game and follow him there then you actually get to go in his hideout. But the tail Thief V mini game (The follow Thief V to his hideout mini game) is extremely hard I haven't completed it yet!! This is just what other people said.
