How do you get a dog in animal crossing?

you can buy dogs and other pets at Tom Nook's store. they are more likely to have a dog if you have nookingtons. its not like a dog that you can walk through town. your dog is just a piece of furniture

p.s. nook isn't a pet shop. all the pets you buy are just like furniture although you can get a dog house and click on it and eyes will appear from it. the bird is the only pet that will ever move though. (the bird will just jump around in it's bird house

You cannot 'get a dog' on Animal Crossing Wild World. You cannot own a dog as a pet, but your town's residents will move in and out at random, and one resident might be a dog. There is no exact way to get a dog as a resident, though.

Also, I heard that if you got a golden shovel by burying a regular shovel for at least 24 hours, the dog would be lying under one of the beds in your house, but this could be a rumor also.

You can't exactly have pets what move but you can buy a pet. But they are actually items you can get a bird, hamster, and a very evil looking dog in a kennel with red eyes. If you have Animal Crossing Wii like I do you can get the Nintendogs puppies but they don't move.

You're unable to receive or buy animals as pets in Animal Crossing City Folk. You have animal neighbors as well as 4 main human players in total in your town, so i guess the closest thing you can have to a pet in the game is being friends with your animal neighbors :)

You can't get a puppy but you can get a pet fish. Just catch a fish and place it in your room. Sharks, Hamer Head Sharks, Ocean Sunfish, and Rays need lots of room because there tanks are big squares.
