How do you get a dog in harvest moon hero of leaf valley?

Put some type of food in the dog bowl outside your house everyday. Eventually you will see to stray dogs running around your farm. Keep feeding them everyday and you will be able to adopt one. Pick the one you like most because you can not adopt both dogs.

If you forget to feed the dogs you'll have to start gaining their trust all over.

When you are walking around town you see animals (cats/bears/monkeys/dogs/rabbits/baby boar) If you give a wild animal alot of items they like you raise their hearts for you. If you get 6 hearts then you get the option of adopting that pet.

The dogs are:

Beagle- favorite items: Hot milk, perfect or better milk

Black Shiba- favorite items: hot milk, perfect or better milk

Collie- favorite items: shining/perfect milk

Pyrenees- favorite items: shining/perfect milk

they also like common mushrooms okay, too

By earning 500 Animal Degree points. You get points just for caring for your animals, so it's pretty easy. I got the dog in Summer of Year 1 with only 1 chicken.

We only get a dog in Harvest Moon boy or girl (PSP) at the beginning. And you do not get to choose the breed (just the name is your choice).
