How do you get a flashlight on Skullduggery Island?

There were no flashlights in pirate days. To signal a ship, go to the telescope and use the broken mirror (upper right shelf inside the general store).

Until you have read the parchment at the Governor's house, all you will see is pirates.

To read the parchment, get the doubloon from under the right side of the covered bridge. Buy feed at the general store and feed the chickens. Take a chicken to the farmer to get the blue candle. The candle will reveal the writing on the Governor's parchment. Now when you look through the telescope, you can signal a small raft.

You will use it with the telescope atop Fort Ridley, but not until you have spoken with the Governor at his house, and the woman on the rock beach to the right of the house.

Using the mirror signals the woman's husband, who has been lost in the sea around Fort Ridley. He will give you your first ship, his tiny sailing raft.

The broken mirror is on the top right shelf in Stinky Tim's General Store. The clerk will let you have it for free.
