How do you get a mini mushroom in new Super Mario Bros?

Well, there are 2 ways I know to do that. First way, collect 5 star coins from the worlds. Spend them on a RED toad house. Heres the challenging part: find out what item is shown 2 items before the mini mushroom on the blue block in the toad house. Pause at that item. Now, hit the A button 2 time quick and you are sure to get the mini mushroom. It only works as Super Mario or fire Mario. It desnt work as standard Mario. Second way, go to a level with a flying red ? block. On that level, hit the block. It doesnt work all the time though. Now, I recomens you use the first way, its harder but its more guarenteed to get the mini mushroom. Once you grab the mushroom, you turn into mini Mario and can go in tiny paths and pipes.

This is more like a discovery, and the cheat I use most.

On level W1-4, there is a little dip in the earth, before the halfway point, that has a pipe in the middle, and normal blocks on the left, and 1 normal and 1 item box on the right. Only get the item box, and it will give you a mini mushroom, and now all you have to do is finish the level.

This gets easier the more you do it since you know what's ahead.

You can find the mini mushrooms somewhere close where you need it, you usually find it in an item box.

There are certain levels that have question boxes that contain small mushrooms. I think that level one in world two has one.
