Well, there are several ways. I will tell you a few of them.

Membership

Membership is HUGE! If you are a member, you have tons of options. You have the whole store to look at, different dens to buy, and color selection. If you don't want to buy membership, then I have other options, but keep in mind, non-member cannot be in epic dens. Non-member dens though, actually look better than some member dens at some times because non-members work hard on them!

Themes

Adding a theme to a den is an awesome way to make your den look awesome! There are so many, and even more if you are a member. Trees can make a forest den, and ice blocks can go along. Always be on the look out for cool items in the stores (especially at parties) that would look great in your den. It would look REALLY EPIC!

Journey Book

When you find something in the journey book, it is always a rare den item. Do them to get amazing den items. There are also other times at short times during the year where you go all over Jamaa looking for things and you end up with this cool den item. Journey book item also go really good with certain themes, for example; The new lemonade stand could go with a beach theme!

No Cluttering!

I have visited the Epic Dens and constantly been amazed at how they were most definitely not epic. What I found were cluttered rooms. They were loaded with plushies and completely random den items. It doesn't look that epic, and due to "random" dens, there are hardly any "epic" dens out there anymore.

Plushies: Good or Bad?

If you want to put plushies on display, thats fine. But try to keep it civilized! Instead of heaping them on the floor or scattering them randomly all over your den, why not open a plushie trade shop? Set out a few tables, organize the plushies neatly on the tables, and make a check out counter with more tables and a few more plushies with a pirate chest where you supposedly keep even more plushies. Using your imagination might make it look super cool also! You could even dedicate a corner to plushies sitting on tables.

Trees

Try to add some trees or attracting den items to the front of your den or along the sidewalk. This may make your den look more appealing on the outside so more people want to see the rest of the den. Even without trees, still try to use the outside of your den well.

Use Ideas!

Look all around you in Jamaa, even in other dens. Especially in other dens. Find what you like in those dens you love and try to recreate it. I once found a den with tables set up outside, and I liked the idea. In the art of designing and art, copying means others like your idea.

Have Parties

Have a few parties at your newly redesigned den and make your popularity grow! If you don't get out there and do something, nobody will get to know you. Start a clan, trade items, talk, dance, host a school, "sell" plushies or other items, and let everyone know you. You can also have birthday parties at your den and have cool shows! Use your imagination!

You have to go to your den, and if you're a member you can buy 2 or more dens. To buy dens, you go to edit your den and click where the button with the den switching symbol is. Then, click buy a new den and purchase your new den!

I think you can only get them in the winter. I'm not sure because I'm not a member.
