How do you get a special in Super Smash Bros. brawl?

Each character has four special moves, but I believe you are referring to a Final Smash. A Final Smash is like an "ultimate attack" that can only be obtained after getting an item: the Smash Ball. By default, all items are on, but if you turned some items off, the first item on the list is the smash ball. When the item appears, it is a floating orb of many colors that wanders around the stage. To obtain it, the player must use attacks to strike the orb. Eventually, it shatters and everything fades darker except for the player that earned it, who gains an ethereal aura and strikingly bright pupils. To use it, the character must use their average special attack, as in the B button on the Wii Remote + Nunchuck, Classic Controller, and Gamecube Controller, or the 1 button on the Horizontal Wii Remote.
