Well when you win the battle against the scientist in Mt. Moon, he will ask "Choose what fossil you want: Helix Fossil = Omanyte Dome Fossil = Kabuto Go to Cannibar Island and speak to another scientist and he will put the fossil into a machine. It will then turn it into the Pokemon depends on which fossil you chose.
After going through mt moon there will be a scientist that battles you and there are 2 fossils he lets you choose one choose the dome fossil then bring the fossil to cinnabar island and go inside the building to the left of the Pokemon center next go to the last room to the right and talk to the scientist near the machine he will make your fossil come back to life and it will be kabuto. If you already chose a fossil and it was the helix fossil then you must trade with another fire red or leaf green to get kabuto.
