* Breed a male "Great" quality Chocobo with a female "Good" quality Chocobo using a Carob Nut to get a Blue (River) Chocobo. * Breed a male "Good" quality Chocobo with a female "Great" quality Chocobo using a Carob Nut to get a Green (Mountain) Chocobo. * Breed an A-class or S-class Blue (River) Chocobo with an A-class or S-class Green (Mountain) Chocobo using a Carob Nut to get a Black (River-Mountain) Chocobo. * Breed an A-class or S-class Black (River-Mountain) Chocobo with an S-class "Wonderful" quality Chocobo using a Zeio nut to obtain a Gold (Ocean) Chocobo. To add to this, if you find the idea of breeding and racing chocobos to be absolutely unbearable, there is an alternative. Once you get the airship Highwind, return to the village of Kalm and visit the upstairs of one of the houses there. There is an old man who will ask you for three items: one of them is called the Desert Rose. If you give him this item he will give you a Gold chocobo. Desert Rose - You must defeat Ruby Weapon to get this item, and Ruby is by far the most difficult enemy in the game to defeat. I recommend consulting a faq guide at gamefaqs.com for advice with this one. Anyway, you can find him in the sand outside the Gold Saucer. He is a clearly visible red against the golden sand. Ram him with your airship to begin the battle, and good luck. You will need it. It should be noted that this alternative method is far more dificult than breeding your own Gold chocobo. I only included it because, technically, it is the fastest way to obtain one. If you want a challenge, then go for this one. Otherwise, stick to raising your own. Another Answer: Just use a save game editor.
