Defeat a Hammer Brother. (They are the minions of Bowser that look like dinosaurs, and they carry around hammers.) ( Note: from the Hammer Brothers, you can also get P-Wings, Jugems' Cloud, and a star. When you arrive at World 8, you go through levels - in which they force you - at one point in World 8, and then at the end of these certain levels, you go through a pipe which then takes you to your Hammer Brother and/or Boomerang Brother. ( Note: Sometimes, you will defeat the Hammer Brother and/or Boomerang Brother, before you go into the pipe and earn your reward.

To get Super Hammers, wait 'till you get Firebrand and Lightningbrand. Once you find your way back to castle town, go to the beach. Go west, then you'll see a gate. It should have a big blue ball. Using your Lightningbrand, give electricity to the ball. The gate will open. There should be a cave nearby. In the cave is the hammer-smith's new workshop. They will morph you regular hammers into super hammers. Also, come back there before going to Joke's End to get Ultra Hammers.
