How do you get scratches off of disc?

You fix discs by using a kit with a series of abrasives, from course to light, to wear down scratches - step by step - to a smooth finish. Professional systems use multiple abrasives, consisting of different hardness and shapes (sharp to smooth). If it is a circle scratch and the disc will not register... read this from Merlin's Table "CENTRE RING DAMAGE... The ring around the centre of the disc contains the data that tells the console player or CD player what the disc is all about. When this ring is scratched or scuffed or hazy, the disc will not register in the console. The ring is on the non-labelled (data/playing) side of the disc, around the centre hole. Look closely and you will see a small shiny band in this highly reflective area. This area and any other scratches on this side of the disc can be fixed using your repair kit."

See if you can purchase a kit for removing scratches on discs.

But what do you do when the disc came from the manufacturer with BAD DISC or scratches on certain parts, and every disc that you've seen of the same dvd, cd, computer disc, or game disc happen to have the same exact scratch marks.

There has got to be a better and cheaper solution then having all of the following when I want to watch discs:

A DVD

a DVD RECORDER

A PLAYSTATION 2

A COMPUTER, with disc drive, which was a recent present.

in case Most or all of them will not play a disc or act up, which has happened in just bought discs from stores or on the net.

Depending on where the scratch is and how large it is... it's possible for the disc to be buffed and playable again. Go to your local game store and see what they can do about it.
