How do you get the animals on Sim Animals to mate?

Well, you have to have a girl and a boy dog or cat, of course. Then once you get that dog or cat, you have to click on the girl one, and it says "have baby with.." and then choose the name of the boy dog or cat

ok first you need to find 2 same species different gender animals that both want to have babies, lets say it's a bunny named cuddles and one named jack. ok then you need to get to know each one of them with them liking you with atleast 1 or 2 hearts then you pick up jack (for instance) and drag him over to cuddles and then they'll get to know each other and they should have a baby after that
