Well, you hold B, then press Up, Left, Down and Right, then release B and you should hear a noise. Then go to the front of your house and the cheats gnome should be near your mailbox and bin. If you want to advance six hours, press Right five times, then Left (after activating cheats gnome). You can also change skills by pressing Down three times, and Up three times. After that, when you click the gnome, the options should say Give Sim Simoleons, Advance 6 hours and Change Cooking, Creativity, Logic etc, and you can change them to 10.

I have the PS2 version of Sims 2 Castaway, but I think they should be the same. After you get the cheat gnome, you can enter your other codes. Then, you go up to the cheat gnome and turn each cheat on. once you have the gnome unlocked you have to type the other cheats and then you can use them by selecting the gnome
