How do you get the gauss gun in new Vegas?

you have to hav Liberated the sectors of PARKER, DUST, OASIS and the BADLANDS then some of the EDF guys you face in EOS will have gauss rifles

also you can find it in oasis your guys have it o and use them on the darn edf sky fighters they work well

You can get an alien weapon, however you have to be using the wild wasteland trait to obtain it. Its north of Horowitz farmstead with three aliens kill the captain to get the alien blaster. Be aware that without the wild wasteland trait the aliens will be replaced with mercenaries and the blaster with the ycs/186

If you have the Wild Wasteland perk turned off, you may get it from the Mercenary Camp in the Far North. If you have it on, you can buy it at the Energy Weapons shop in Freeside.

You can find the Gauss Rifle in the Hidden Valley. That is where the Brotherhood Of Steel is. If you can't find them, look in all of the bunker's; and use all the intercom's. . :)
