How do you gift people on Animal Crossing?

Go to your rucksack, click on an item, put it in your equipped slot (so your are holding it), talk to the person you want to give it to.

But people will not accept gifts until you gain their trust. To do that speak with them everyday for a week without offering any gifts. Then they should start taking the items you offer. You can only give one gift per day.

You must become friendly with the person you are trying to give a gift to. This requires you to talk to the person for about 3 days. During those 3 days do not try to give them a gift! You'll find that the warm-up seems to "reset" if you try to give the person a gift and they're not interested in receiving it.

Basically talk to the person for a few days before even thinking about giving them a gift.

You need: stationary and a gift. First, write a letter(try ending it with 'Here's a gift' or something similar). Then take the gift you want to send and put it in the letter by moving it over to the letter. Take the letter and talk to Pelly/Phylis and they will send the letter to them. You will usually get a present back in his/her reply. So it's kinda like exchanging items!

First you have to get the stocking from Nina. Raise her friendship points to 200 and then give her one Yarn of any size during Winter.

When you go to sleep late on the night of Winter 24th you will get a present in your Stocking. In the morning you will find out what it is.
