The following is the best explained answer.
It is not based entirely on players transferring out or going pro early. Here is my proof.
Original Prestige = A
End Season 1 - Transfered out = 0, Go Pro Early = 0, New Academic Prestige = A
End Season 2 - Transfered out = 0, Go Pro Early = 1, New Academic Prestige = A
End Season 3 - Transfered out = 0, Go Pro Early = 2, New Academic Prestige = A
End Season 4 - Transfered out = 0, Go Pro Early = 0, New Academic Prestige = A
End Season 5 - Transfered out = 0, Go Pro Early = 1, New Academic Prestige = B+
End Season 6 - Transfered out = 0, Go Pro Early = 0, New Academic Prestige = B
End Season 7 - Transfered out = 0, Go Pro Early = 0, New Academic Prestige = B
End Season 8 - Transfered out = 0, Go Pro Early = 0, New Academic Prestige = B+
End Season 9 - Transfered out = 0, Go Pro Early = 0, New Academic Prestige = B+
**I ran several simulations keeping all variables the same at the end of season 6. By keeping all variables constant (cutting same players, moving players around) I could simulate to the new season with an Academic Prestige of a B or a B+. Now why would I vary in the new season with a B to a B+? The only place left for variability was the training of the players. Is it the players awareness ratings as some suggest, I doubt it. As the seasons drag on I am only going to keep falling in my Academic Prestige rankings so surely it could not be players awareness ratings as those ratings go up as the players progress from freshman to senior.
You academic prestige might very well be based on players leaving early over the past several years + some other unexplained factors.
