How do you input Game Shark codes on VisualBoyAdvance for mac?

You play the game to a point where you can save. save the game. Wait until in the bottom left corner it says wrote battery or something like that. Exit VBA. turn it on again but don't pick a ROM just go back to your VBA folder go to battery saves click on it. click on the file.go to options go to "add GameShark codes" add codes. Exit VBA again go on it again and go to your ROM and start your ROM once and then again and it will say in the bottom left something like "battery loaded".
