No. Ambitions has all features, or most from sims 3 original app plus the ambitions features. I sadly wasted my money without knowing on ambitions, adventures and sims 3 original. Wish I just got ambitions and adventures.

You need to install ambitions and world adventures but if i were you you should install ambitions. If you want to make your own store you need ambitions(and world adventures i think) for the consignment cash register and if you cant find that there are loads of forums telling you where you can find it. ON THE IPHONE/IPOD: Yes, Ambitions is NOT an add on. You don't first need Sims 3 in order to play Sims 3 Ambitions. However, the two games can exchange data if you do have both. ON PC/MAC: I believe that Sims Ambitions does require Sims 3 for PC/Mac as it is an expansion pack. However I do not have the PC/Mac version so I am unsure.
