Follow the directions on the right, being careful to choose the right items and not spill anything. Placing the items in front of the beaker or the tray will automatically pour them. When you have added the Probes and the X-ray screen, be sure to lift ONLY the x-ray screen to put into the developer. You get as many tries as you need.
1. Click on the sample and on the beaker, and it goes into solution.
2. Add the red Enzyme #2 to the beaker (first of three in the top rack).
3. Reach up and grab the yellow "Lab Gel" and pour it into the tray (drag to the tray).
4. Add the sample beaker to the tray.
5. Place the Nylon screen into the tray (one of two trays on its shelf)
6. Pour the Probes into the tray (red flask second from the top at left).
7. Place the X-ray grid into the tray (one of two trays on its shelf)
8. Remove ONLY the top X-ray grid from the tray and place in the developer.
9. Press the flashing square "develop" button on the developer
Getting something wrong means you have to try again. Otherwise the result is shown.

Show them to Mews then follow the instructions on the DNA test. After the x-ray tray is in the developer, press the flashing button to get the result.
The button flashes on the developer, but it is not labeled. Press it. When you select a sample from your item bag at the Mews lab, you follow the instructions on the DNA test. The final step is to place the x-ray screen into the developer and PRESS the flashing button. If you don't, it will never finish. When you do, the answer is instantaneous if you messed up. Otherwise, the test ends as "successful" and Mews will tell you the result.
You can only test two samples: the fur you bring back from your first trip to Puerto Rico, and the egg shells you bring back from New Jersey. Show these to Mews to start the DNA testing (follow the instructions, and even then you may have to do it twice).
Take the shells back to the Mews lab and test them. The DNA analyzer will prove the existence of the Jersey Devil.
You get the fur from a fence in Puerto Rico. Back at the lab, you run a DNA test, but it turns out to be ordinary coyote fur.
There is only one flashing button on the DNA developer. Unfortunately they forgot to label it "develop" as suggested by the instructions. If you don't open the second page, it may give you an error message even when you have done everything correctly.
The DNA test, if done properly, proves the existence of the Jersey Devil. You still have to get: -- a footprint photo from the Himalayas -- a closeup photo of Nessie from Loch Ness -- a tooth from the chupacabra at Puerto Rico Once you have proved Nessie, the chupacabra, and the Jersey Devil, you will go to the Pacific Northwest (a new location in the helicopter) to hunt Bigfoot.
Since the monks won't let you test the Yeti scalp, you have no proof. Once you have the lantern and the footprint photo, you can find nothing at the Himalayas. However, once you prove the other three cryptids (Nessie, Chupacabra, and the Jersey Devil), Mews will send you in pursuit of the similar creature, Bigfoot.
By having a DNA test done.
You process the samples for DNA in the Lab, the left side of the Museum in the Mews mansion. (It is on the first floor to the right.) Follow the instructions to test samples, and show any photos to Mews.
There is a second page to the instructions, which says to press the flashing button which is supposed to say "develop." You either get the results or it says you made a mistake, sometimes just because you didn't open page 2 of the instructions. The second time usually works, but you have to be careful not to spill anything.
