Why does the patcher say that you need to create a summoner when I try to log in?
Logging into the website for the first time requires you to make a summoner in game. So just create a summoner in game then you should be able to log on the website. Basically, a summoner is your screen name. This isn't the same as your log-in username however. This is the name that people will see when you join games with them, when you post on the forums.. and one of the names that you will need to provide to riot customer service should there be a problem with transactions you make or to report other players for toxic behavior etc.
