If you have PS3 press the Select button on your controller which should bring up a menu. Press RB(XBox360) or R1(Ps3) until your cursor is on the "kit"option. It should say Basic Campsite, press it and it should automatically set up your campsite for you. You can change outfits, fast travel, and save all from the campsite. You also may join other people's campsites and hear other people's stories.

you must buy a camping kit from a general store to start with. You must then find an area in the wilderness, enter your inventory, find the camping kit and click the option to set up a camp. From here you can sleep and save the game as well as gain ammunition and change outfits
