How do you make a door in mine craft?

To make a sword, you will need one stick and two wooden planks, cobblestone, iron (smelted), gold (smelted), or diamond. To craft it, right click the crafting table (assuming you have one) and place the stick on the bottom middle. Next, place the two items said (wooden planks, etc.) one in the middle, one on the top. You can separate them by right clicking to place only one instead of them all.

To make a door, you will need 6 wooden planks. You fill up two columns (a column is up and down, as opposed to the row which is left to right) in either direction.
