you could do that OR if the Darkmoon Farie portal is in town you can go to darkmoon island and get some tickets, after you get some go to the sovineer and toy vender and buy a darkmoon storage box wich sell for 2G each. but you can only have one in your inventory at a time so you have to buy 1 then sell 1 then buy 1 then sell 1 ect.

There are many answers to this question already, and they all come down to a few options:

1) Get gathering professions like Mining, Skinning or Herbalism and sell what you gather on the Auction House.

2) Use the gathered materials to make wanted items, such as Glyphs or Flasks and sell those.

3) Use Alchemy to transmute cheap eternals/gems into expensive Epic gems or use Jewelcrafting to buy Epic gems and sell the cut varieties.

4) Play the auction house by buying items that are sold too cheap, and putting them back on for a higher price which people still want to pay for that item.

5) Run old-world raids which you can solo if the proper class and with proper gear, and sell the wanted items you find on the Auction House while also making reasonable gold from drops.
