To open the roof dome on the mill (where the hovercraft is kept), first go inide and pull the rope that unlocks the mill gears. Then go outside and climb on the windmill arms. Turning them counter-clockwise opens the roof dome. Go inside and use the manure you got from the mill farm. The hovercraft will go to its permanent position in the mud swamp.
You get in the middle of them and push them apart.
You can not do anything, except move on to another island.
The small key in Astro Knights Island is for Mordred's secret hideout. When you come to that wind mill area, move the hay bales apart and use the key on that.

you get on top of the ye old romour mill sign, and jump on the wind mill blades and make the wind mill move. Jump about 4-5 times. Then, jump onto the middle of the windmill, and from that jump on the roof and enter.

Opening the roof dome of the mill, you will find the hovercraft (hover board) that can take you out into the mud swamp. It runs on manure and when you add some, it will take its place automatically at the swamp, and cannot move anywhere else. (see related question)

You can cross the mud swamp on Astro Knights Island by using the Hover Boots. These boots will allow you to move across the mud without sinking. You can find the Hover Boots in the Factory area of the island.
Push the two bales together, then stand on top and move to the middle of them. They should spread to reveal the locked hatch to the underground chamber.
