You will power on, open the tray, then enter the code 9879 and then 0 for region free. Close your tray, power on, then power off and you are all set.
The only way is to stop the disc, then do not open the tray. The machine can power down, but as long as you don't take the disc out, or open the tray it should pick up from the same point.
To insert a disc, you first need to have the power on. Then push the 'disc-tray open' button, denoted by a small triangle. To close the tray, either gently push it until it closes itself, or push the button again.

Not sure if this is right for the elite but for the white type you just get a butter knife and stick it under the tray to the right, open the tray time just right and thenpull it out when the tray would normally open.
there is a small hole near to the tray button. just use the hook or small needle try to get into there. it will suspect like a wheel just move it. CD tray will open now.
It says open tray because if you go down to it and click it, it opens your tray.

It's a 15amp fuse behind the coin tray, which is can be pried out (while in in the tilted open position) one side at a time. The fuse diagram is printed on the back of the coin tray. This a very clever disign, using the coin tray to double as a fuse box cover.
