How do you open the chests on legend of Zelda skyward sword?

You will need a few bombs, throw five near the chest. after that reach someplace to fire the boomerang at the chest, then trow the boomerang again and the item will come to you!

Roll into the poll if you mean the forrest temple beginning. Use the wind boomerang if you mean the one hanging from the ceiling.
