How do you plant your shields in Gears of war 2?

the best way to plant your shields without them to get them get kicked down, is to put the handle in front of the locust. sure, you cant get out but, the big locust cant get in. for a good example , in day one, put the boomshield handle in front of you and put it near your ammo crate (when theres no locust around) how to do it: hide behind it and press A

Dig a hole about 12" deep, put the shield into it and water it in, make sure it has a few hours of direct sunlight per day and if all goes well, it will root itself.
