How do you play Donkey Kong returns?

you start the game bye pressing 2,you choose the game slot,then press the left - on the remote and shake the remote until you get to 2 player, and press 2. when the " you need to connect remote 2" you DO NOT leave that message, instead

you press the home with the house button, then use the remote to click

"remote settings" . when their, you click "reconnect" then read the message,

and do so. try a few times, that should work, (it does for me) ;)

Or you can go to a saved game, get into it, at least play one game, then go back to the player 1 player 2 section and select player two. If it says you have to connect player 2 remote, then press 1 then 2 then A.Then it should work!

P.S. I tried the other suggestion and it didn't work for me.

All you do is look at the options on the pause mode and you will see how to play it where it says "How to Play".
