Leafgreen is probably corrupted or damaged somehow you will have to get a new one. I doubt platinum is damaged because its a very new game.

Well, I don't know for sure but you can try to rename the file exstension from .nds to .gbaso the file will turn into a GBA file from a NDS file.:)
If it shows up on the DS games claiming it doesn't have a save file the battery in the game is most likely dry. the only way to fix it is to get the battery replaced but that deletes everything on the cartridge.
I have the same game for the Gameboy and all I had to do was start a new game and the old one was deleted. I don't know if the same rules apply.
