How do you rename your dog in Nintendogs in 3DS?

First, after you buy your dog, play with it a little. It doesn't matter which toy you use, as long as it doesn't bother the dog (items like the Mario Kart). Make sure you have a name chosen for your dog. I find it helpful to choose a name while you play with it. Sooner or later, your screen will go white (for only about 2 seconds) and then your dog alone will appear. After that, follow the instructions and call the name of your puppy into the mic (microphone).

when you get your dog pet it for a while then it will say you will have to name it in the microphone then you will hear it and say your dogs name again.

After saying the name, you will type it in...but after that, you have to keep saying the name until your dog responds, or your dog will forget the name, and you do it ALL over again.

You can whistle in the microphone of your DS, You can tap the whistle icon in the middle of the home page where you see all of your dogs icons, or you can call the name of your dog in the microphone. If you have a new dog pet him or her and then after a while you can name it. Hope I helped! :)

Just simply say your dog's name into the microphone. If your dog refuses to come to you, try saying it like you originally taught it. If that doesn't work, the Whistle icon is your best friend!
