Go to the Options Menu, which is the last button where you find Live Mode, Buy Mode, Build Mode, and Story Mode. You will see an icon that looks like an old Floppy Disk. This is the button you click to save your game. It will say "Save" if you hold your mouse over it for a second in a Tool Tip.

Well, to save your progress, go to the menu. (3 dots on the bottom.) There should be a ittle picture that looks like a computer chip. Click it and your progress should save... If you have done this already then I think you should remove the game from your computer and re- install it.... If neither of those helped, Im very sorry...
That happened to me, it means that they are stuck in a glitch, you cannot do anything, you must delete the family or go to the neighborhood, and don't save.
For the computer : 1. go to documents 2. click on EA games folder 3. click the 1st sims game you downloaded. (ect, sims 2 , or sims 2 double deluxe) 4. then click on music 5. click a category you want to save them to. 6. then drag or copy the music that you want on there =] hope this helps ! =]
