World of Warcraft automatically saves all progress as you go. There is no "save game" button, as it's all online and "live" so to speak.
If you choose to log out by whatever means you want (including just cutting the power), everything you've done up to that point will have been "saved".
(In fact, if you're not in an inn or city, and don't wait the 20 seconds required to log out, the game will save everything that happens in those 20 seconds as well, with or without you.)
