If you are a warlock, you get minions by doing quests at certain levels (you can get the imp at level 1). Most of the quests are easy.
If you are a hunter, then you can start getting pets after doing a quest at level 10. It is a really easy quest and it is the only one that you have to do.
In either case, your class trainer will point you to who you have to go to.
Warlock minions are summon-able pets. This means if yours dies, you can just re-summon it. To do this use the spell that you used to first summon it.

If you have completed the Easter event then you do have the minion. You have your squirrle ears.Wear them. When they are on go to the tab that shows you everything that you are wearing. Right click on the squirrle ears and it will say something like summon minion. Then Fluffy and Charlie the squirrle will appear. They do not stay long and warning people can kill them with archery!! I hope this helped =D. Once you summoned it, it will take another 30min before you can summon again.
No they can not. Although the Warlock class has many pats he/she can summon the imp can't shapeshift
No pets? A Warlock without a pet is like a warrior without a sword. Just plain idiotic.
The warlock trainer in Ironforge is in the Forlorn Cavern. To get to the Forlorn Cavern, you can head east from the Mystic Ward or west from the Hall of Explorers.
