How do you teach your nintendog its name?

1. You didn't say its name correctly. You have to say it at the same tone every time you say it.
2. You are too close to the microphone.
3. You are too far away from your microphone.
4. Your Nintendog won't listen to you.

Maybe because you didn't say it enough it never really sunk in for that long. It's odd that the programers would make it that complicated though...Try reminding your dog, I'm sorry if this didn't help--i tried!

Occasionally, your dog will be ...not too smart. It will forget it's name, but keep trying. BELIEVE me, I know. I am having the same problem. Just don't give up! (If you want to restart the game, when it is starting up and it says Nintendo in the red letters, hold X, Y, B, A, R, and L. It will ask to restart. Then, hit yes.)

It mabye be hard at start so keep on trying and if that doesn't work go on Google translate and type in your name of the dog tap audio input then press listen on Google translate and keep on doing that until it comes up with seen as e.g rex has learn't his name mabye its a good time to teach him sit. This can be a slow process as the DS is relatively weak, so you will have to call your dog over and over again. It can have trouble recognising particularly words and tends to "over-analyse". Even if you speak the word clearly, your dog may not understand it or mistakes it for something else.

Here are some tips:

1. Try to keep your voice consistent. Saying it softly at one time and harder at another only slows it down.

2. Try to avoid training your dog in noisy places.

3. If your voice sounds muffled, try to speak slightly softer.

4. Names with "ie" sounds, three syllables and strong consonants in the end tend to make the DS recognize it faster.

5. At this stage the personality of the dog has no influence on how fast the dog learns. It's just the matter of how good that name is for the DS to recognize.
