You cant ever really. It all depends on luck
There's not exactly a number of how many paintings are fake, it's really just luck. You basically just go into Redd's shop, and hope the painting you buy is not fake. If it helps, I heard from somebody that he will do sort of a silent evil laugh, and he will have a glint in his eye if the painting is fake. I'm not sure if this is 100% true, but it seems to be because every time I buy a painting from Redd and he doesn't do that, it's not a fake painting. Good luck!
You can't. Only if your lucky, but i would say just don't buy off him because if he does give you a fake painting it is only worth 10 bells and you buy it for 3 thousands bells. You can't really tell if it's fake but if he has a painting that costs only 2,000 bellls then you probaly shouldn't buy it. If the painting is really expenses, even for Redd's shop, then you should buy it and see if its real. Just because the paintings aren't real doesn't mean there not good decoration for your house.
Redd will say something like, "It took Crazy Redd a long time to get his hands on this," so that's how you know it's a counterfeit. If you accidentally buy it and take it to the museum, Blathers will tell you that it is a counterfeit. But they are really pretty decorations in your room if you accidentally bought it.
What he says is completely random. You have to buy it to find out if it's real or not
the only way to get art is to go to the city and go to Redd's shop. he will have paintings in his shop. but be careful! they are very high prices and some are even fake! the way i know if they're fake is if the name of the painting ends in the word 'painting'. i.e - 'amazing painting' or 'wonderful painting', are both fake.
Many kinds of visitors visit your game. They can be people who moved into town. You were once one of them in the beginning. Other visitors are Katrina the fortune telling cat, Saharah the traveling camel, Joan the turnip pig who comes every Sunday, Wendell the starving walrus, Crazy Redd the crazyyy seller who sometimes illegally sells fake paintings, and the rarely found Pascal the red otter who gives a golden axe if lucky. I think that's all of them. NOTE: If you want to know if the paintings you bought from Redd are fake, sell it to Tom Nook. Give it to him, just ONLY the painting. If he says that the painting is FORGED, then the FORGED PAINTING is FAKE.
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, you can acquire the Mona Lisa painting by purchasing it from Redd's shop, which appears occasionally in your town. Make sure to check Redd's inventory during his visits, as the art pieces he sells rotate. Once you obtain the painting, you can donate it to the museum, where it will be displayed. Be cautious, as Redd sometimes sells fake versions, so compare it to a reference to ensure it's genuine.
Yes sometimes he can sell you a fake painting that the museum won't take and can only be sold at Nook's store for about 10 bells. If you have insuance for that, keep it. Trust me I didnt keep mine and about 4000 bells went to waste. Hope that helped :D
The "crazy redd" paintings you might be referring to could involve works attributed to an artist named Redd Foxx or possibly a style associated with vibrant, abstract art. However, without specific titles or examples, it's challenging to identify which paintings are considered fake. In the art world, forgeries can often be found among high-value pieces, so it's crucial to verify provenance and authenticity through reputable sources or art experts. Always check for documentation or expert opinions when assessing the legitimacy of any artwork.
One of your animal friends will one day give you a invitation to Redd's store. Redd is the man who owns the hideout. Once you have the invitation, go to Redd's hideout out and give him the invitation and 3000 bells. Once your in BE CAREFUL when you buy. Some of the stuff is real and some is fake. You can never tell. Unless you buy a painting and donate it to the museum. The owl at the museum will tell you if it is fake or not.
If you heard that for Animal Crossing, yes.
sometimes nook sells them (but not that often). otherwise you need to find crazy redd in the city (though most of the paintings you buy from him will be fake ones)
