How do you text chat on Animal Jam?

well, to get free chat for animal jam, go to parent dashboard. get your parents to log in to it then make them (or you just) select the option that says "type." then press log out. then press play and log yourself in. you should be able to type in anything you want. note: if you say any cuss words or "inappropriate" words your account will get suspended or locked by animal jam. the amount of time locked will be specified each time you try to log in. hope this helps! add me i am deadfishstink

Be sure you already have a player account created. Get your parents to help you.

Then to enable text chat you will need to sign into the parental dashboard.

If you have forgot your password or need to create an account just follow the applicable links listed. Enter the same email that was used to register your player account. Once signed into the parental dashboard, select the player's account you'd like to enable chat on.

From there scroll down to where it says Chat Control. Set the enable type chat to "enabled" and click on update to save your changes. Sign into the game as the player whose chat was enabled and you should be good to go!

you have to activate the parent dashboard and then log in there. Now, find the account name that you'd like to give type-chat and click on it. Now, make the switch from bubble chat to type chat.

OK - first you have to activate a parent dashboard. When you do that, you have to use the same email address you used for your animal jam account/accounts - if you don't use the same address it won't work ! So, remember your email you use for your animal jam accounts !! After activating the parent dash board you/your mom/dad can enable/disable, free chat/bubble chat and change password make you a member and so forth - have fun ! Animal jam is the best if you have free chat but even better if you play fair/by the rules. I got suspended for 30 days before, it isn't fun - it will happen to you if you don't follow the rules too.
