How do you work a pokeball like a masterball?

This is not possible unless you happen to find an Action Replay cheat, in which case you might as well just use the "spawn 999 Master Balls" cheat and save yourself some time. That code is insanely easy to find for all versions of the game.

There is NO other way to make a Pokeball into a Master Ball, no matter what imbecilic "updownB" kinds of "cheats" you've heard. There is, however, an equation you can use to calculate whether or not the Ball you're about to throw will catch the Pokemon you throw it at. Simply search for "catch rate wiki" and select either the Wikipedia or Bulbapedia article, and one should have it alongside an indepth explanation.

If you're not adept at math, this equation is not suggested.

people say that if you press A or B rapidly or some other button it helps 80% of the time but for legendary Pokemon here's what i did. 1.when the poke ball is getting thrown press a rapidly then after 1 tick start pressing B rapidly then after 2 ticks start pressing L+R rapidly after 3 ticks press the up button rapidly then you should catch it. note: weaken the Pokemon first and paralyze it too. hope it works! worked for me on RAYQUAZA. LV 70.

Note: This only works sometimes but I caught my Rayquaza, Regirock, and Regice with a Pokeball. A+up when hits, B+down when hits ground, R on right, L on left, R on right, A when stops.
