Depending on how long you follow her, and how many hit you in a row, getting hit by either 4 or 5 energy balls will knock you down. You will have to start the chase again. You only have to avoid the balls for about a minute or two before you can get close enough to run into her. This is 5 or 6 sets of the balls.
