How many stars do you need to get the last level on Mario Sunshine?

well its been a while since I've played that game but I'm pretty you need to get the seventh star in every level, (the one where you have to chase down shadow Mario) then delfino plaza should get flooded and you should be able to enter the volcano and take down bowser!!!

you have to complete episode 8 of pinna park. shadow Mario will have the Yoshi egg and you have to spray him and chase him. the Yoshi egg will appear on a blue roofed building by the entrance to ricco harbor. oh and don't go in water (you can go in shallow water) cuz Yoshi will........DIE!! and yes you can get him again, and you need fruit to get him out of his egg.

It's not based on how many Shine Sprites you have, but rather, you have to complete episode 7, the Shadow Mario episodes, of all the regular levels. This means that the minimum number of Shine Sprites that you need is 50 (the first one you get is at the airstrip after defeating the Piranha Plant); with 120 Shine Sprites being available in total.

in the American version i believe you can only get 120 stars. That is how many i have and i have met Yoshi. In the Japanese version i think you can get more.
