You don't have to reset at all! After 8pm, go to the city. Once you get of the bus, head right until you reach the two cones. Try to push the cones aside. If nothing happens when you do this, it's because one of the cones will only move by random chance, so visit the city often after 8pm. After you've pushed the cone, there will be a tunnel. Go in there, and you'll find Resetti (the angry mole that talks a lot) and he'll give you a silver shovel after he's talked to you. The silver shovel can also double the money you get when you hit a certain rock with it.
