It depends on what you can make and the demand of a blacksmith on a server. The mats to make stuff isn't cheap and neither is leveling it. But you should make a good bit of money if you get all the mats together to make stuff and sell it in the auction house and blacksmiths usually get BIG tips when they make something for someone that's like a purple.
