Breed
The eyes behind the cave in virtual villagers is a black bear. I know this because I have been playing virtual villagers since I was four years old, and now I am eleven.

It can be because of starvation, disease or old age
A villager has to be 18 or older to be able to breed. If the Female is 48 or older then it will not breed at all.
The best way to get a lot of people is to mate two villagers. To get villagers to do this you must drag a male villager to a female villager, they may reject them a first but just mix pairs up and keep trying eventually it will work. The two crawl into a hut and come out later, the female carrying a baby NOTE:Both villagers must be old enough to do this, they must also be opposite gender
In Virtual Villagers 4, to fix braids, you need to ensure that you have a female villager who is at least 18 years old and has the "Braiding" skill unlocked. Once you have the right villager, simply drag them to the area where the braids need fixing, and they will automatically start repairing them. Keep an eye on the villagers' energy levels, as they may need to rest before completing the task.
You cant. You have to wait till the baby is old enough to separate from their mother. This applies to all the VV games
