He is the youngest of the Johnstone's and during the course of the play is being set a bad example from his older brother Sammy. Naturally Mickey wants to be like Sammy, which later in the play gets him into a lot of trouble. When he meets his estranged brother Eddie, who was given to a wealthy home, he wants to be more like him and they play ends with his jealousy and rage having taken over him when he discovers the truth and that Eddie got a better life than he did. Both brothers tragically die at the end with a devastated Mrs Johnstone regreting actions made in the past. this is where they both end up dying
