I want to be the ultimate halo geek so in what order should i read the halo books and play the games so it makes one extremely long story?

The Halo games should be played in the following order:

Halo Wars;

Halo: Reach;

Halo: Combat Evolved;

Halo 2;

Halo 3;

Halo 3: ODST.

The books were written in the following order, although I am uncertain if they follow each other chronologically:

Halo: The Fall of Reach (most likely coincides with Halo: Reach);

Halo: The Flood (an adaptation of Halo: Combat Evolved);

Halo: First Strike (set between Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2);

Halo: Ghosts of Onyx;
