In Fallout New Vegas when you do the quest still in the dark is it better to let mcnamara stay as the elder or should i let hardin become the elder?
If you side with Hardin:
- No truce with NCR, so no peaceful resolution
- Mission: Kill of the Van Graffs in Freeside to porve your loyalty
If you side with McNamara:
- Truce with NCR (fighting alongside against the Legion)
- If overthrown, he will simply be demoted
- Mission: plant a bug in the radio equipment at Black Mountain, and deal with the mutants there.
Please note that you will get Power Armor training either way, so this will not be a factor. Also, if I were you, it is more fun to side with McNamara.
