Once you open the chest in the room where Yeto's wife tells you the key is, you'll find the pumpkin. Go back to Yeto's wife. She'll tell you to give the pumpkin to Yeto, who is in the kitchen making soup. Don't check your items for the pumpkin -- it won't show up. Simply go up to Yeto, who will shove you hard when he hears about the pumpkin. The pumpkin will just fall out of your chest... as if it's natural to carry a pumpkin inside your jacket. Yeto will add it to the soup and turn it from a simple soup (worth 2 hearts) to a good soup (worth 4 hearts).
