Recently, there are two options to log out. Depending on the option used, if a person logs out they are in the "Lobby", where they can't play normally, but they can still chat with their friends. Unlike the game, where a player logs out after a short time of inactivity (2 minutes or so?), in the lobby a player can remain inactive for up to an hour before being logged out automatically.

The only way to play the original version of runescape is to have an active account when "runescape 1" was still running. An account is deemed active if the player has logged in within the last 6 months.
Sometimes if you are logged into your phone, it will stay logged in until you've logged out. You may not be logged into your account on your computer but you may in fact be still logged in on your phone.
Yes, you are still logged on in that case. You have to log yourself off in order to maintain privacy.
What do you mean?, runescape is still there. If you wish to visit runescape go to "runescape.com"
If hackers find a security hole in Runescape which allows them to infiltrate and bypass any security measures your computer might have then yes, it is possible for someone to hack into your computer when playing Runescape. But seeing as Runescape is pretty old and still are being developed upon then the chance of this happening is pretty slim. Runescape might be one of the most secured MMORPG games today.
Yes you can
This is probably because you clicked the Remember Me option when you logged into your account.

When you log off, the computer takes it's time to close all of the programs. If you cut the power off, then it could possibly lose data, and then some program won't work.
