This is a good question and the game itself actually got a reward for BEST RPG in show, it has however been called a strategy game by other game sources. What you really need to ask yourself is what makes an RPG, item managment, turnbased fighting or real time. are you scowering dungeons and watching 10 miniute cut scenes (LOL just kidding). an easier way to tell is just read the back of the game, somtimes at the bottom in small print it tells u what kind of game it is.
