If you liked the first one, your probably going to love this one....well that my opinion.

If you are a fan of the Fallout games it's definitely worth the money

if you've only played Fallout 1 or 2 or both you might be a bit sceptical since the much of gameplay and graphics is different, but you'll probably like it anyway..

if you liked Fallout 3 you'll Definitely love Fallout: New Vegas.

if you are not sure whether you'll like it or not i recommend that you buy it when it's on sale, the price goes down or you can buy it used.

Fallout New Vegas is a great game. In my opinion, it is better than Fallout 1,2,and 3. You can have more unique weapons than Fallout 3. There are more enemy's, more kinds of species. And more! :)
