For people who don't know about Cynder, she used to be Spyro's evil enemy (in the past, Cynder has tryed to kill spyro, by being controlled by the Dark Master, Malefor)... But now has been saved by Spyro and now are friends who work together as a team. Not forgetting Sparx of course. Sparx is a dragonfly and Spyro's best friend. So there are many new features and gameplay options to this fantastic new version of the Spyro series. I would highly recommend this as the best spyro game yet!My opinion (for best Spyro game) is Spyro: Year of the Dragon... that's really the best Spyro game yet... for PlayStation 1, at least.

What is the whole summerized story of spyro?
If you like long stories here we go. Spyro is a purple dragon born once every ten generations and Malefor the first purple dragon wants to kill spyro's egg. so he made his armys invade the dragon temple to smash all the eggs and take another dragon egg (the one born in the year of the dragon) to reserect the dark master (malefor). So the fire dragon ignitus takes spyros egg and sebds it down the river to escape the evil armys. and the egg is found by a family of dragonflies and kinda adopt him as their own. That's why spyro is best friends with sparx their real son. one day spyro finds out hes a dragon not a dragonfly. and goes on a jerny to find the truth of his past when he finds ignitus and he tells him everything. the egg stolen was Cynder the black dragon. she was not ment to be evil but was being used by the dark master's evil influense on her mind. he soon helps rescue the other elemental dragons from cynder using them to power the crystels that will open the dark master's portal. at the end spyro must stop cynder from placing the last crystel in the portal. she is defeated with spyro's final blow of fury and she shrinks down to spyro's size not being dark anymore and having no more energy. they return to the temple not beong able to stop the portal from opening. then all of the elemental dragon and spyro and cynder meet at the temple again. in the next game gaul the evil ape king on malefor's side is trying to free the dark master from the well of souls with the night of eternal darkness coming.after trying to find cynder after she wanted to get revenge on gual and the dark master spyro must defaet gual and reascure her. soon the moons align and the eternal night comes and spyro turns dark from it! he then dafeats gual and saves cynder but almost cant stop being dark until cynder stops him. the place where gual was is about to colapse and they are all trapped! NO! but the chronicler (the dragon that helps him with his elemants in spirit and records every date in dragon kind) contacts spyro and he asks him what he should do to save his friends. all he says in response is "ride out this storm and live to fight another day". Spyro hen knows what to do, he creates a crystel around them all and are frozen in it in a way. in the next game malefor's armys brake the crysel the are in and puts on a chain bonded by dark magic and prevents them from moving to far away form each other. they soon wake up and find his armys around and the chain is pinned in the floor and soon the golem apears (malefors destructing creature fused by his dark will). they hit his hand and makes him weak. and Hunter the chaeta from the tribe helps them. he tells spyro and cynder that they were on the crystel for three years and malefor reaturned. they soon find their way out with the golem atacks them along the way and his arm came of after missing spyro and cynder and getting it coaght in a wall! they soon rest but are all knocked out laetr with a mistearus earth missil. and wake up in hunter's cheata tribe. their leader does not trust dragons because of malefor but lets them go after a sireis of events you'll found out by playing the game. they reach the dragon city built by the moles in honer of their friendship woth dragons. they are all expecting ignitus because he sent hunter to find them. they soon see a battle raging on and try to stop the golem from destroying the city. they destroy its dark crystels and it dies. soon after they meet up with ignitus and the other dragons. malefor sends a message by a crystel and tells them he has reserected the destroyer and its bigger than the golem! he says that it will begin the ring of anilation. it will cross the belt of fire and reaturn to the giant volcano and the world wil crack open and will bring about the birth of a new world. so they have to catch up to it bygoing underground and then attack. they almost kill it but it comes back and crosses the belt of fire. Ignitus flies with them to get both of them past the belt. ignitus creates a force feild around all of them and then can't make it. he sacrefices his life for them and spyro gets so sad and enraged that he chooses to become dark. Cynder talks him out of it and they continue. soon they are at the entrence to his lair. they open the gates and soon find a wind tunnel the will Carey them to his lair. there malefor tells spyro that cynder lured him to the well of souls and tricked him into freeing him Cynder says its a lie but can't remember anymore. malefor then turns her dark again. he tells spyro about how the true destiny of the purple dragon was to destroy the world. in malefor's time he was stoped and prevented from completeing his "quest" but told spyro he had carried the flame be it throught his own will or not the world would be destroyed him along with it. Spyro refuses to belive it! cynder tries to kill spyro but she say "fight back! why won't you fight back!!?" Spyro says because you've left me nothing to fight for. she turns good again and says theres always something. she fanaly free from him. almost. they fight malefor and he is sucked into the earth by dragon spirirts. hes dead. spyro and cynder then say this spyro im sorry, im so sorry. don't be its over now. So this is it? then ignituses spirit tells spyro when a dragon dies he doesn't leave this world his spirit lives on. binding itself with nature ofering hope for the future. spyro and cynder says i know what i need to do just get out here cynder (the world is about to blow up) spyro no you don't have to anything lets just go where cynder? they ll be nothing left! the world is braking apart and i think i can stop it i think im meant to. then im with you. spyro sends out a wave of fury expanding around the earth sacraficing himself and as he does cynder says I love you. the earth is fixed, but where is spyro? will he ever return???! after the credits you see the chronicler say be welcome friend, i have long been expecting you. a new age is begginning. with each new age a orthy dragon is choosen to chronicle the many triamphs and failers of the age. this has been my duty for many milanias. and now Ignitus, i pass this honer to you. ignitus says what of spyro? is he? hmmm that is the question isn't it the chronicler says. you see each time a dragon dies a page is writen in this book. ive done my best but i can't seem to find any trace of spyro and he then disapaers and ignitus becomes the new chronicler. he says well young dragon where might you be? it then shows spyro and cynder flying and so ends the legend of spyro. sorry this is long. the games are a new beginning the eternal night and dawn of the dragon.
What is the story to the legend of spyro?
In the previous game, Spyro encased himself, Cynder, and Sparx in a Time Crystal to prevent the Well of Souls from collapsing on them and killing them. Three years later, a group of Grublins, led by a Hero Orc, find the crystal with the party inside. After breaking the crystal, the Grublins take out two snake-like necklaces and put them on Spyro and Cynder. After a minute, they wake up, only to be attacked by grublins with Sparx nowhere to be found. Later, they are attacked by the Golem, but luckily, Hunter saves them. After that incident, they travel through the catacombs until they arrive at Twilight Falls, and continue onto the Enchanted Forest. As they are resting and attempting to get the chain off, a strange beam of light travel through the air and proceeds to knock everyone unconscious. When they wake up, the trio discover they are in Avalar, chained to a totem-like pole. After convincing Chief Prowlus to let them go if they find Meadow, who has mysteriously disappeared, they head out. When they find Meadow, they realize his leg is broken and have to go to a cheetah who has the key to a raft that can be used to take Meadow back. When they find him, he torments Cynder about her past. When they walk away, Sparx reveals to have stolen the key. They get the raft, and Prowlus admits he was wrong and apologizes. Hunter then proceeds to take them to Warfang, only to realize it is under attack. After a series of events, including being separated from hunter and saving many moles from a fire, Spyro and Cynder run past Cyril who tells them to follow him as they ignore him, and he amusingly remarks "Or ignore me at your own peril. Whatever." After fighting a troll and a golem, they finally meet up with Ignitus and the other Guardians. There is a long conversation, followed by Malefor appearing in a hologramic crystal and Spyro discovering about something called the Destroyer which is trying to destroy the world, and then Spyro and Cynder and Sparx have to go underground and find a way to open a door...(Or something...I apologize, I haven't played the game in a little while.) Then after going to an underground tunnel, Cynder gets a good idea to stop the Destroyer, by filling the dam with water. After attacking the Destroyer, he somehow manages to get out of the water and continue his round. Ignitus, Spyro, and Cynder soon head to the Belt of Fire where the Destoyer went, unfortunately having to leave Sparx behind. Ignitus has to sacrifice himself to protect Spyro and Cynder, which horrifies Spyro and makes him go dark for a minute, after which Cynder calms him down. They continue on, until they get past the Burned Lands and the Floating Islands, and confront Malefor. malefor toys with Cynders' mind, which makes her doubt herself long enough for her to be susceptible to darkness, which Malefor takes advantage of. After Spyro manages to free Cynder, a fight begins, and in the end they defeat Malefor and he is imprisoned in the core of the world, only to realize it's too late and the world is falling apart. Spyro decides to sacrifice himself, and Cynder refuses to leave. Then Spyro fixes the world, and something else happens that I won't say, and then WATCH AFTER THE CREDITS, because it reveals all! Yes, but they'll probably be set in the LoS universe, since the purpose of the trilogy was to re-establish the characters in the LoS games. We'll probably hear news of the next Spyro game after the Spyro Movie that will come out either Christmas 2009 or April 2010.
